The ‘Lite’ comprises of a weatherproof housed condensing unit (outdoor unit) matched to an evaporator (indoor unit), operating on R407C Refrigerant.
The new system is ideally suited for both new and replacement cellar installations.
Designed for quietness of operation the condensing unit section incorporates the latest quiet running sickle bladed fan technology. The plastic coated housing which is ‘self healing smart steel’ reduces weight whilst minimising corrosion, ensuring extended life. The condensing unit is suitable for ground / flat roof mounting and features quick release panels for ease of access. It can also be wall mounted with the addition of Hubbard ‘Lite’ brackets.
The evaporator can either be wall or roof mounted and contains the system temperature controller which is tamper proof, allowing trouble-free operation. Heating option is available where cask conditioned ale is stored.

The Hubbard Lite system is specifically designed to maintain temperature within beer and wine cellars, utilising a simple restrictor based refrigeration circuit. The equipment consists of a split system comprising of a weatherproof hermetic condensing unit for external positioning matched to an evaporator for placement within the cellar space. The Lite with its simplified operation incorporating a mechanical thermostat offers a very cost effective solution for the price conscious customer. The Cooling only Lite can be fitted with heaters where cellar temperatures may fall below the desired room temperature during low ambient periods.
The Hubbard Lite range comprises of 3 nominal capacity sizes ranging from 1hp to 2hp with R407C refrigerant providing cooling capacities within a range of 2.9 kW to 6.5 kW. These systems are supplied as standard for single phase operation with connection to either internal or external unit.

The Hubbard Lite unit is designed for external placement and is finished in a light grey Plastisol ‘self healing’ smart steel for long service, it can be floor or wall mounted with the optional wall mounting kit. Its slim design makes it ideal for situations where space is limited and this also reduces the visual impact of the installation. The access panels are easily removable for service of the main components which include a Hermetic compressor, condenser coil with sickle bladed fan for quiet operation, HP and LP safety switch HP fan control switch, compressor starter gear and incoming supply isolator.
The Hubbard Lite evaporator consists of a white metalcased enclosure which can be ceiling mounted as standard or wall mounted with the optional wall mounting bracket kit. They are supplied readily assembled with a restrictor device, and a mechanical controller which operates the compressor directly through an interconnecting control loop. The Lite requires a 5 core (including earth) interconnecting cable, of which the cable size is dependant on whether the supply is bought to the evaporator or condensing unit.
The Lite utilises a mechanical thermostat with a specific temperature range for cellar operation. Located behind the evaporator access cover the thermostat remains tamperproof to reduce unecessary service calls due to incorrect setting. The Thermostat operates the compressor contactor directly through the control circuit which also incorporates a safety HP (manual reset) and LP switch (auto reset).
