Transport news Hubbard and Dearman partner with Dawson Rentals to demonstrate cutting-edge clean cold technology

Dearman powered Hubbard TRU

Hubbard Products and the Dearman Engine Company have today announced they are partnering with leading specialist asset rental and leasing business, Dawsonrentals - truck & trailer, to demonstrate ground-breaking zero-emission transport refrigeration technology.

The revolutionary technology uses the Dearman Engine, which is powered by liquid nitrogen, to deliver efficient, quiet and cost effective transport refrigeration, without any emissions of NOx or particulate matter.

Dawsonrentals - truck & trailer is supporting early commercial demonstrations by making state-of-the-art refrigerated vehicles available to operators to use the technology, while lending extensive industry expertise.

The first demonstration of the technology will begin with a major UK commercial operator this spring. An expanded second phase of demonstrations will then commence later in the year.

Discussing the announcement, John Fletcher, Managing Director of Dawsonrentals | truck & trailer said: "There is an ever-stronger focus on the environment and the need to cut emissions and boost drive efficiencies throughout the logistics sector. We are working hard to provide customers with access to the latest technologies to help their business, while also benefiting the wider community. Dearman is an innovative company, with a ground-breaking technology that could have a significant positive impact so we are delighted to be able to work with them and offer customers the chance to make a genuine difference."

Pat Maughan, MD of Hubbard Products added: "Operators of refrigerated trucks are confronted with real-world problems as they try to manage costs while reducing their impact on the environment. They don´t want Tomorrow´s World solutions, which promise much but deliver far too little. Our customers need systems, which can deliver on performance, cost and sustainability. And, the Hubbard TRU does just that, powered by Dearman´s liquid nitrogen engine and then using the same nitrogen for cryogenic refrigeration. We are excited to be extending our relationship with Dawson, and to be working with them to bring our innovation onto the road.

Michael Ayres, Deputy Chief Executive of Dearman said: "In the years to come, pressure will continue to mount on operators to address issues of air pollution, CO2 emissions and noise. At Dearman we have developed technologies which can help to address those issues without costing the earth. Dawsonrentals have outstanding industry expertise and we are excited to be able to work with them to demonstrate our technology and its capabilities."

Cutting-edge Dearman transport refrigeration technology will be on display onthe Hubbard Products stand at the forthcoming Commercial Vehicle Show. Hubbard has partnered with Dearman in the development of the system, providing world-class refrigeration experience and expertise. The Hubbard-Dearman stand can be found in the Cool Pavilion at the Commercial Vehicle Show from 26 28 April: Stand 3E110, NEC, Birmingham.
