Waitrose choose Hubbard for new deliveries.

The new Waitrose.com home delivery vehicle has been designed from the ground up to be more efficient, easier to use, more sustainable, and uses the Hubbard Products twin evaporator 390-AELT-12-1 system for the frozen and chilled compartments.

290 of the twin evaporator units are scheduled to be delivered and in use, by the end of 2014. Designed to provide optimum performance for the transport of fresh and frozen produce, the Hubbard 390-AELT ultra lightweight units are crankshaft driven and are set to maintain -21°C frozen and +2°C chilled and comes complete with single phase standby.

The all-new Waitrose.com vehicles are packed with features that ensure they are easier for delivery drivers to operate, allowing deliveries to be made more smoothly with shorter door opening times and greater fuel efficiency.

The wind-cheating vehicles feature an aerodynamic box body design with a low profile
390-AELT condenser, which is box body mounted on the front of the vehicle. Dedicated compartments for ambient, chilled and frozen goods accommodate specially designed racking enabling trouble-free loading of delivery crates. Access to the rear compartments is through a quick and easy to use roller-shutter door.

The new vehicle design has the same footprint as a standard Mercedes Sprinter van yet is more load-efficient than existing home delivery vans.

Backed by our nationwide service cover, it perfectly fitted the Waitrose.com specification."
