Hubbard Delivers Excellence for kff

Kent Frozen Foods has commissioned four new Iveco twin compartment frozen and chilled delivery vehicles, with high-performance twin-evaporator Hubbard 460AELT-12-3 units for its ‘Excellence’ brand to operate out of its Alyesford (Kent) and Witney (Oxfordshire) distribution hubs.

Established in 2006 kff’s Excellence brand, comprises of a unique collection of specialist fine foods and ingredients designed to cater for discerning chefs who value distinction and superior quality. It brings together around 600 innovative products, focusing on the raw ingredients necessary to create memorable dishes.

The new delivery vehicles, finished in a stainless steel colour scheme joins kff’s existing fleet of over 50 frozen and chilled vehicles that use Hubbard’s highly economic and environmentally sustainable eutectic systems, freezing down to temperature overnight, using low-cost power for a quiet and effective refrigeration system during use.

kff’s ‘Excellence’ products are delivered on request by ten dedicated vehicles, to their 4,000 customers within its operating area from, Leeds to the Isle of Wight and Norwich to Plymouth in the West. Each vehicle makes approximately 18 deliveries per day with the twin compartment bodies chilling to between 2°C and 6°C and freezing down to -18°C.

With a range of gourmet products, including Kentish Mayde - handmade cold cutting pies, Lenôtre authentic Parisian - French speciality breads and ‘World Cheese Award’ winning cheeses from The Cheesemakers of Canterbury, maintaining the quality of ingredients between our distribution centres and our customers is critical to our business”. He continues “As we develop our business, and we are currently focusing on expanding our Witney distribution centre; it is important that we have a reliable and dependable transport refrigeration solution. Hubbard has been supplying us for over 13 years with a wide range of solutions”.

The Hubbard 460 Alpha system is driven using a compressor mounted within the engine compartment and belt driven by the crankshaft. The EL unit specified by KFF includes an electric standby enabling the unit to be run from mains power, whilst the vehicle is stationary or overnight, benefiting from cheap rate power.
