Commercial news Hubbard cooling boosts cash flow, improves efficiency & shortens the payback period

2006 is proving to be a highly successful year for leading bar and cellar cooling manufacturer Hubbard Commercial. As the UK’s first licensed Energy Technology List (ETL) supplier of cellar cooling equipment the company has been at the forefront of a revolution in bar and cellar cooling delivering superior performance physically and financially. Since the listing of the first Hubbard Premium R407c cellar cooling system in the Carbon Trust administered ETL in October 2005 interest in the units has been so great that to meet demand a new production line has been commissioned at the company’s Ipswich headquarters.

This new production facility allows Hubbard to significantly increase its output of Premium, Premium 100, 150, 200, 250-3, 350 & 450 models. Dougie Stoddart, Commercial Manager of Hubbard Commercial says; “In response to the surge in demand an additional production line at our Otley, Ipswich facility became operational at the end of August. Our intention is to continue to offer our customers the highest levels of support and responsive service with short lead times that has played a major part in our growth over recent years.”

Under the Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECA) scheme, purchasers of qualifying cellar cooling equipment can claim an ‘enhanced’ 100% capital allowance on their equipment in the first tax year. Normal capital allowances on plant and machinery are 25% a year on a reducing balance basis. So the scheme boosts cash flow and shortens the payback period.

Hubbard Commercial has also had an equally successful year with the launch of a new range of HCR compressor receivers. The new HCR systems offer a split solution with a low-noise compressor sited inside a pub or bar and low-noise condensers externally. The benefit is immediate, external noise is reduced significantly whilst Hubbard’s easy access housings ensure that routine maintenance of the compressor/receiver units involves minimal disruption to the retail environment. The Hubbard HCR compressor/receiver unit is compact and can be free standing or wall mounted to further free up important floor space.

Dougie Stoddart comments: “As leaders in our field Hubbard Commercial are committed to providing high levels of flexibility to our customers and to the end user. All in all the Hubbard Premium R407c and HCR systems offer a practical, reliable and efficient solution to improving a bars running costs whilst being green at the same time”.

He continues “We are seeing much more interest in and awareness of the need to reduce carbon emissions from our customers, whether they be tenanted or free-houses which is a trend that Hubbard identified as a KPC (Key Purchasing Criteria) as long ago as 2001. Our investment in and understanding of the issues that are now ‘hot topics’ has allowed us to keep well ahead of our customers requirements and to be leaders in our field”.
