Another First as Hubbard
Launch ECA Qualifying Digital Condensing Units
Hubbard Products, the UK’s principal manufacturer of ECA qualifying energy-efficient refrigeration equipment, has reinforced its position by launching the only ETL approved Digital Condensing Units. Fitting into the popular range of Zenith condensing units the six medium temperature digital units feature EC fans as standard for maximum efficiency at all times.

Ideal for use with glass door chillers, the Zenith Digital Condensing Units offer responsive performance directly reflecting the duty requirement at any given time, anywhere from 10% to 100% seamless, variable capacity. This flexibility saves energy when cabinet doors remain closed overnight or at times of low footfall, unlike non-digital units need to consume energy regardless of the real-time requirement.

As the first digital condensing unit technology to feature on the Carbon Trust’s Energy Technology List, Hubbard has delivered the missing link in achieving efficient refrigeration. Users can now benefit from lower running costs and improved cash flows by claiming Enhanced Capital Allowance tax relief. The relief can be claimed for both capital expenditure and installation costs of ETL approved refrigeration and cabinets.

The Zenith Digital Condensing Units’ high level of flexibility and responsiveness can be used with multiple cabinets, for example, a combined chiller display comprising a run of glass door and separate cabinet sections.

Dougie Stoddart, Commercial Director of Hubbard Products explains why gaining ECA accreditation is important: “Many retailers are moving to more cost-efficient methods of chilled and frozen display, especially the dairy sector where glass door cabinets are becoming the standard. With these displays compressor duty demands differ significantly with high loads during store opening times and very low loads over night. The high levels of energy consumption associated with traditional condensing units, has made the development of a digital solution offering total flexibility, a key area of focus. Being the UK’s first manufacturer to achieve ETL approval and capable of offering Enhanced Capital Allowance tax breaks to our customers, it was an easy call to make in accrediting our digital models as well.” He continues “All round it was pure common sense to be able to offer the same levels of energy efficiency across all of our compact models. And, importantly, it is all retailers, large and small from independent outlets, through symbol stores to express, convenience and forecourt outlets that can all benefit from the improved cash flow that the ECA offers. At the end of the day it’s what our customers’ were asking for”.
